How do you make a "paper rose" quilt block?
How do you make the "paper roses" such as the Allison quilt designs paper roses by Hancock's?
how do you make the paper rose blocks such as the allison quilt designs paper rose pattern? i'm sure if somebody looked at the picture at http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-AQS-23 they would be able to tell me, but i can't figure it out on my own!!

My suggestion ... cut out your center pentagon shape first. I would make it about 3-1/2" across. Then cut out 2" strips of your fabric for the rose "petals". It's sewn together much the same as a log cabin. Make one row around the center. Then keep adding rows until you get it the size you want. Add wider strips where the corners are to be, and square it up. I would use long strips when you add the petals. You'll need to allow extra fabric for the angles when you trim after each adding each strip.
